Join us for an engaging afternoon learning about one of Long Beach’s oldest surviving residences – the stately 1906 Queen Anne Victorian mansion, the Green-Rankin- Bembridge House. Standing in near-pristine original condition in the city’s Willmore City historic district, this architectural beauty is not only a City of Long Beach landmark, but is also featured on the National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historic Resources. Presented by Chris Hogan and Mimi Masher of Long Beach Heritage (which owns and operates Bembridge House), this program will also explore LB Heritage’s decades-long mission and advocacy efforts to increase public awareness, appreciation, and preservation of the rich architectural and cultural history of Long Beach – as well as upcoming “Whisper in the Walls” October events and other holiday programs! Limited seating available; first-come, first-served. The Miller Special Collections Room is on the first floor of the Billie Jean King Main Library, located at 200 W. Broadway (on the corner of Broadway & Pacific). Library parking is available in the structure at Broadway & Chestnut Avenue. With library validation, parking is free for the first 30 minutes & $2.00 for 2 hours; daily maximum is $12. Location: Billie Jean King Main Library, 200 W. Broadway, Long Beach, CA, 90802.
